Why the Volume in Winamp lower than other media players?

07/25/2011 05:18 by Chrislo102

I’m using Winamp to play songs. It sounds great but the volume lower than other media players. Why? And what can I do to make it loud?

  • There are many volume controls in your computer. Winamp tool bar on your desktop. Winamp equalizer and volume controls in winamp, any other speaker control software, Realtek control....etc if one of them gets turned down for whatever reason....virus correction?? My Winamp can be controlled from at least 4 other sources....I found Realtek Mixer main volume was turned down...all other media was fine.

  • In Preferences/Plug-ins/Output choose Nullsoft Waveout Output. This will correct the problem. Windows' volume control will not track Winamp's volume setting in real time, but if you open Windows volume control after you've changed Winamp's volume, you'll see that the Wave volume slider sits where your Winamp volume slider is set. This allows all other sound applications to track the volume setting of Winamp, making it easy to hard wire an mp3's normal volume with a sound editing program.
