  • Which media player you're using? Does it play .avi files before?

Generally speaking,  reinstall your Media Player will help.

If you're using Windows Media Player, by default, Windows Media Player will play AVI files.

You can check Windows Media Player File Association.

Open Windows Media player and go to Tools and then Options.

Now click on the File Types tab and make sure that AVI is selected in the list. If it’s not selected, it may be the reason why your videos are not playing.

  • We need more information about your question...Most of the media player could play avi. If the player works fine on avi, and your avi file is not corrupted, you could reinstall the player or try updating it. I use VLC player it works stable.

  • Are you using Realplayer? Install divx. Or turn to some other media player, like mediaplayer classic
