We need more information about your question...Most of the media player could play avi. If the player works fine on avi, and your avi file is not corrupted, you could reinstall the player or try updating it. I use VLC player it works stable.

If you're using Windows Media Player, by default, Windows Media Player will play AVI files.

You can check Windows Media Player File Association

Are you using Realplayer? Install divx. Or turn to some other media player, like mediaplayer classic
