Why does Malwarebytes Anti-Malware recommend a quick scan over full? 07/20/2011 01:45 by LindaRodrigues: I am constantly trying to make sure my computer is clean because I do download a lot, go on streams, and watch videos. I love Malwarebytes since it saved my computer a few times. But why does it say it's recommended to do a quick scan over full? Generally you run a "Full" scan maybe once a month at the most because it scans your ENTIRE hard drive.

But for weekly to daily scans, you can run the "Quick" scan as it will only check the most common places viruses are found.

I do both, "Quick" weekly, and "Full" once a month.

mbam recommends quick scan because first, it's obviously quick and it scans places where most viruses are in.
