PDF-XChange Viewer is one of the most popular free alternatives to the Adobe Reader. It’s smaller, faster and more feature rich than the Adobe Reader which has until now been the Reader of choice for PDF files.

Best PDF viewer seems to be PDF-XChange Viewer. I used it rarely at the beginning and others pdf-viewers too but now I have much work with PDFs and I can appreciate all features. PDF-XChange works very stable as opposed to Nitro (and new version Nitro). This viewer has also portable versions. It allows you to fill out PDF forms, and allows you annotate PDFs. You can also zoom and magnify text and export PDFs to image-file formats such as BMP, PNG, TIFF and JPEG. The text and image quality are excellent. It offers for Free most features (more that other alternative softwares). You can get advanced features such as page reorganization, extraction, signing by purchasing the Pro version. I love PDF-XChange Viewer more and more.

Also a free pdf reader, Cool PDF Reader is known as the world's smallest PDF reader to view, print Adobe PDF files of all versions. It is about 650KB to download and doesn't need lengthy installation. Just download, unzip, and run. It’s cool.

PDF Reader is a free program to view, modify and print pdf files.

It is very small, only about 4 MByte to download. You can open, view, zoom and print PDF files. You can also modify pdf files (but you cannot save them in the free version). You can add, change and delete text and pictures and print it out.
