The language DLL VBE6intl.dll could not be found - ERROR with excel 2007

04/06/2012 06:03 by ScottHamman

I have a great problem with office 2007, which I cannot solve, although I have been mining the web for solutions since a week.

Running my system on windows 7 pro, I decided to install office 2007 instead of my older Office 2003.

Excel though does not run properly. Everytime I try to open it and write s.th into a cell, I get the following error box with only 'OK' as an option button:

Microsoft visual basic: "The language DLL VBE6intl.dll could not be found".After I press OK, the message appears again.

  • If you open Excel in safe mode (holding down the Ctrl key while opening Excel) do you get the problem?

If not then it is due to an add-in or a startup program.
Disable all add-ins and try again starting Excel normally.
If the problem has gone then the problem is due to an add-in.
Re-enable one at a time until you determine the culprit.

Other places to look are the folders that you can discover by typing the following in the immediate window of the VB editor
    ?Application.StartupPath
    ?Application.AltStartupPath
    ?Application.Path & "\XLSTART"

If there are any workbooks there that you don't recognise as being your own, try moving them elsewhere and seeing if the problem goes away.

If it still fails in safe mode then you might try
Control Panel > Programs and Features > Microsoft Office XXX 2010 > Change > Repair

  • I had the same problem although I don't have Google Desktop installed.  I have Windows 7 with a Student version of Office 2007 installed.  I have uninstalled that version and installed Office Professional Plus 2007 and this is when the problem started.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it without success, the problem was still there.  I searched google and didn't find a solution, then I uninstalled a Windows Update for Office compatibility that was installed automatically andTHE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED!

  • I was  getting the same message "The language DLL VBE6intl.dll could not be found". Excel would open, and function, but the message was getting on my nerves. I searched the C disk and saw the .dll was present in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6\3082, so the problem was it wasn't being picked up. After 20 minutes working my way through the results from a Google search I opened a Microsoft page that said the correct location for the file was C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6\1033, so I created a new folder for 1033, copied DLL VBE6intl.dll across, and was amazed to see it worked. True! Worth a try if you're stuck.

  • to have this problema solved, go to your control panel > programs > uninstal programs > click on "compatibility pack for the 2007 office system". Uninstall it. Your problem with the "The language DLL VBE6intl.dll could not be found" pop up on Excel should be solved. Gilles
