You don't use SmartFTP to make Web pages. It's not designed to do that. You can edit your pages with any text-editing program, or you can find free HTML
I think you're getting confused.
You use smartftp to upload your site to a server. You need to get hosting with a server. You normally pay for this service, there are also some free places though, just it gets covered with advertising.
Under Tools > Settings, click on the General Option.
Set whatever you wish to use to edit a webpage (Anywhere from Dreamweaver to Notepad) in the File Viewer/Editor setting.
Then just go to the page you want to edit in SmartFTP,
right click it, and press Edit. A special edit window will open with a
drop down box, select to automatically upload the file. This way,
whenever you save the webpage on your computer, it us automatically
uploaded to the website.
it depends on the set up, but typically you log into ftp.yourhost.com or
some other ftp site they provide using the FTP client, using the
username and password you have. You then drop you site and files into
the folder on the server side.

You cant copy them from one FTP Server to the other FTP Server using
SmartFTP, but if your FTP Server allows you to go in through Explorer,
then you can just go and drag and drop it. But SmartFTP will not allow
you to connect to two different FTP Servers at the same time in the same
window. You have to download the files locally from one FTP Server,
then put them on the other FTP Server.
