Open a browser and type in the url field: "www.roxio.com/enu/products/creator/suite/." Wait for the page to load.
Find the green "Buy Download," "Buy Physical" or "Upgrade Now" buttons. Pick one and follow the instructions. If you are buying the Roxio CD Creator product, the site will ask you for credit card and shipping information on the next pages. If you are upgrading, the site will ask you for information about your current software.
Click the "Start" button on the bottom far right of your desktop. Go to and click on "My Computer." A window of drives will appear. Find the Roxio CD Creator drive icon and double click on it.
Decide where you want the Roxio CD Creator software to be saved on your computer. This is for users who used the "Buy Download" or "Upgrade Now" buttons. When you click the icon on the site to download from the site, or when you double clicked after inserting the disc, "File Download - Security Warning" appears.
Hit either the "Run" or "Save" button on the window. If you hit "Run," the software will begin downloading. If you hit "Save," your computer will ask you where you want to save the software. Once you have chosen the place, the system will begin to download the Roxio CD software.
Click on the "Run" button on the next window. This will run the installation software. The Roxio CD Creator software will prompt the user to answer of questions to complete the installation process.
Insert the CD you wish to rip into your CD/DVD drive. Launch Roxio Home under the Roxio Creator 9 folder in the Start menu.
Select "Audio," "Convert CDs."
Select the files you wish to rip from your CD.
Specify the destination folder you would like to copy the files to.
Click the red button to initiate the ripping process. A dialog will appear to detail the progress of the copy and alert you when the ripping is completed.
Click on "Start." In the "Start Search" field, enter "msconfig." Press the "Enter" key. In Windows XP, click on "Start," then "Run." Enter "msconfig.exe," and press "Enter.
Select the "Startup" tab.
Click on the "Disable all" button.
Click on "Apply," then "OK."
Click "Start." Press the "Shut Down" button, and select "Restart."
Click on "Start," then "Control Panel." Click on "Classic View" in the left column.
Open "Programs and Features" in Windows Vista or "Add/Remove Programs" in Windows XP.
Double-click the "Roxio Easy Media Creator" program. Follow the on-screen prompts to uninstall the program. Repeat for each program with "Roxio" or "Sonic" in the title.
Click on "Start." Select the "Shut Down" button again. Choose "Restart."
Click on "Start," then "Computer" or "My Computer." In Windows Vista, click on "Organize," then "Folder and Search Options." In Windows XP, select "Tools," then "Folder Options."
Click on the "View" tab. Find and click on "Show hidden files and folders." Click on "Apply," then "OK."
Search for and delete the following folders in Windows Vista:
C:\Program Files\Roxio
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared
C:\Users\Your_Username\App Data\Local\Roxio
C:\Users\Your_Username\App Data\Roaming\Roxio
Delete the follow folders if using Windows XP:
C:\Program Files\Roxio
C:\Program Files\Sonic
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic Shared
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Roxio
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sonic
C:\Documents and Settings\Your_Username\Application Data\Roxio
C:\Documents and Settings\Your_Username\Application Data\Sonic
C:\Documents and Settings\Your_Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Roxio
Note that the "Your_Username" folder will show your actual username.
Empty the Recycling Bin by right-clicking on it and selecting "Empty."
Click on "Start." Enter "regedit" in the "Start Search" field. Press "Enter."
Expand the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" branch in the left column by clicking on the triangle.
Expand the "Software" folder. Find and right-click on the "Roxio" folder. Left-click on "Delete." Find and right-click on the "Sonic" folder, if present. Left-click on "Delete."
Find and expand "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE."
Find and expand "Software." Right-click on the "Roxio" folder, then left-click on "Delete." Right-click on the "Sonic" folder, if present, and left-click on "Delete." Click on "File" in the menu bar, then "Exit."
Restart the computer.
Open Roxio. If you do not already have a copy of Roxio Creator 9, you can buy the software from Roxio.com.
Insert a blank DVD into the computer's DVD-ROM burner.
Select "File" > "Burn Disc Image File."
Navigate to the ISO image file on your computer and select "OK."
Select "Burn" to begin the burning process. Select your recorder from the drop-down list and set your desired burn speed. Select "OK/Burn" to start. Once complete, you can exit Roxio and eject your new DVD.
Launch Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 by double-clicking on the desktop icon or locating the program in the Windows "Start" menu. The "Roxio Central" window opens.
Select "Home" in the panel on the left-hand side of the screen, then "Applications" from the sub menu. This opens a list of all the applications available on the right side of the screen.
Click on "Video Copy and Convert" in the panel on the right-hand side of the screen, or "VideoWave" for a self-made movie.
Click the "Video Compilation" button in Video Copy & Convert. For a self-made movie in VideoWave begin adding content to the movie using the "Add Photo/Video" option in the "Add Content" pane at the top left of the VideoWave main window.
Click "Add Movies" in the "Source" pane for Video Copy & Convert and select the movie or movies you want added to the compilation.
Click "Language Options" in the left-hand panel of the Video Copy & Convert main window to include subtitles and select the audio and subtitle languages. This option is only available for movies copied from a DVD in the DVD-Video format. Select the "Add text effect" from the "Add Content" pane in the VideoWave main window to create your own subtitles in your self-made movie.
Launch Roxio Easy Media Creator 10. Click the "Video" tab, and select VideoWave from the list of utilities. VideoWave is Roxio East Media Creator 10's advanced video editing utility.
Load video clips into your time line. Click the "Add Video" link in the task pane, which is the leftmost column. Select your intended video clips from the browser. They clips will appear in your time line. Drag and drop the video clips into your desired order.
Load MP3 audio into your time line as background. Click the "Add Background Audio" link in the task pane. Select your MP3 audio from the browser. The MP3 audio will appear in your time line below the video clips in a separate track. Edit your project as desired with MP3 audio as part of its soundtrack.
Insert a blank writable CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Launch Roxio Creator.
Click "Music" or "Data" from the project selector window. You may need to click "Make a Music CD" or "Make a Data CD" depending on your version of Roxio Creator.
Click through the file browser tree to locate your song. Drag and drop the song from the browser tree into the burn list. You may instead select the file and click the "Add" button, if preferred. Click the "Record" button.
Go to "Start and click on "All Programs." Highlight the Roxio program and select the "Creator Basic" option.
Click on the "Data" tab and select the "Data Disc" option from the menu.
Click the "Add Data" button, which is located at the top of the main program screen. If you want to add an entire folder to the CD, select the "Add Folder" option. If you want to add specific digital images, select the "Add Files" option.
Locate the files or folders you want to import to Roxio. You can import multiple digital images by pressing the "CTRL" button on your computer keyboard and individually selecting each file with your mouse. Select your files and click the "Add" button. Your files will be imported into the "Project Window."
Insert a blank CD-R into your computer's disc drive.
Click the red, circular record button to begin copying your files. The record button is located at the bottom of the screen in the "Copy Disc" pane. After you click record, a progress bar will indicate the estimated burning time.
Click the "Done" button when the burning process is complete.
Disable Creator 9 startup files in MSCONFIG. Click the start button and type in "msconfig" into the "Start Search" field and press "Enter" to open the MSCONFIG window. In the "Startup" tab, select "Disable All" and click "Apply." Restart your computer for the changes to take place.
Click the "Start" button, choose "Control Panel" and select "Add or Remove Programs" to bring you to the Uninstall menu. Find all of the Roxio Creator 9 programs and uninstall them.
Open "My Computer" from the start menu, then click "Organize" and select "Folder and Search Options." In the view tab, check the "show hidden folders" checkbox.
Delete the "Program Files\Roxio," "Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared," "Users\Username\App Data\Local\Roxio" and "Users\Username\App Data\Roaming\Roxio" folders from your hard drive.
Open the System Registry by clicking the "Start" button and typing "regedit" in the "Start Search" box.
Open the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" folder and delete the Roxio folder within the "Software" folder.
Open the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder and delete the Roxio folder within the "Software" folder.
Restart your computer for all changes to take effect. Roxio Creator 9 will now be completely removed from your system.
Click "Start."
Click "Computer."
Locate the icon for the Roxio Creator DE virtual CD-ROM drive. Once located, right-click on it.
Click "Eject" to remove the virtual CD from your Roxio Creator DE virtual CD drive.
Open the Roxio Media Creator 9 software program.
In Disc Copier, click "Disc Copy" if you simply want to copy the entire contents of a disc. If you'd rather import individual chapters from a DVD, in the "Add to Project" area, select the "Import from CD/DVD" option.
Insert the DVD disc that you want to copy into your DVD drive.
Use the Media Selector to choose the CD/DVD drive as your source, then browse disc files to locate the DVD-Video "VIDEO_TS" folder.

Select the DVD-Video chapters you want to copy to Roxio, then click "Add."
Select the import file settings you want to use (called "Audio Tags" in Roxio Media Creator 9), and change/edit them as desired. Then click "Save."
The chapters are added to your video project.
To rearrange chapter order, select and drag them to a new location in the project.
Go to "Start" and type "MSCONFIG" in the "Start Search" box. When the "User Account Control" box appears on the screen, click "Continue."
Click the "Startup" tab when the "System Configuration" menu appears on the screen. Next, click the "Disable All" button.
Click the "Apply" button to save your changes, and then click "OK" to exit.
Click the "Restart" button when the "System Configuration" box appears on the screen.
Go to "Start" and open the "Control Panel." Next, click on the "Uninstall a program" link, which is listed in the "Programs" section.
Scroll through the list of computer programs and click the Roxio Creator program. Next, click on the "Uninstall" button, which is located on the Control Panel's "Programs and Features" toolbar. When the Windows dialog appears on the screen, click "OK" to continue with the removal process.
Close the Control Panel.
Go to "Start" and click "Computer." Next, click the "Organize" tab and select "Folder and Search Options." The "Folder Options" menu will appear on the screen.
Click the "View" tab and check the box next to "Show hidden files and folders." Click the "Apply" button to save your changes. Next, click "OK" to exit the menu.
Click on "Start." Manually remove four different Roxio files from your hard drive:
C:\Program Files\Roxio
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared
C:\Users\Username\App Data\Local\Roxio
C:\Users\Username\App Data\Roaming\Roxio
Enter each file name in the "Start Search" box. When the specific Roxio file appears, click and drag the file to the "Recycle Bin."
Double-click on the "Recycle Bin." Next, click on the "Empty the Recycle Bin" button and select "Yes" to permanently remove the Roxio files from your hard drive.
Go to "Start," type "regedit" in the "Start Search" box and click "Continue." The "Registry Editor" menu will appear on the screen. To prevent damage to your PC, it is recommended that you export your registry before editing and deleting Roxio files from your PC's registry. You can export your registry by clicking the "File" tab and selecting "Export." Next, select a destination folder, name your registry file and click the "Save" button.
Double-click the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" folder. Next, click the "Software" folder.
Right-click the "Roxio" folder and select "Delete." Minimize the HKEY_CURRENT_USER" folder when you're finished deleting the Roxio folder.
Double-click the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder. Next, click the "Software" folder.
Right-click the "Roxio" folder and select "Delete."
Close the "Registry Editor" window.
Reboot your computer to complete the removal process.
Exit all programs. Click the "Start" button and click "Control Panel."
Open the "Add/Remove Programs" feature if you are using Windows XP, and click "Uninstall a Program" for Vista and Windows 7 systems.
Locate and click Roxio Classic Creator 10 under the list of programs. Click the "Repair" button and complete the on-screen prompts to reinstall Roxio.
Restart your PC. Launch Roxio and ensure that it is working correctly.
Click on "Start," "Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools" and "System Restore."
Click on "Restore my computer."
Click on a date before the first conflict appeared between the XP and Roxio software programs.
Click on "Next" to load your backup system settings, restoring both programs to a compatible state.
