There are any kind of macro solutions for easier Superscript and
Subscript access in Excel. However, usually they are useless because
those macro buttons are disabled while you are editing the cell
contents.
In most cases, Superscript and Subscript formatting is needed only on
some characters in the cell. Macro like above can format only the whole
cell contents.
I have also suffered from this limitation for years until recently I
tried to use COM add-ins to overcome this limitation — and it was really
so easy! I wonder if no-one have published the COM add-in solution
before.
COM add-in toolbar buttons can be used also during the edit
mode, which allows full Superscript/Subscript toolbar button
functionality, exactly like in Word, without any special editing
dialogs. COM add-in buttons work also with other text
containers like with AutoShapes.
Visit my site (link below) for an COM add-in that adds true Superscript and Subscript toolbar buttons.Works
on Excel 2000 and later, and also with the Excel 2007 Ribbon (the COM
add-in buttons are displayed in the Add-ins tab but you can
manually copy those buttons to the Quick Launch toolbar).
