Open all of your Norton products simultaneously. If you have more than one Norton product of the same software---two antivirus scanners, for example---choose one to use as the "monitor" while using the others to "scan."
Go to the "Settings" section of any programs you will use to monitor your computer. Set them to "monitor." This option usually is available in the first tab of the "Settings" section. The programs that will not be monitoring your computer must then be set to "scan." You may do this by simply switching the "monitor" setting to "off" if it is set to "on."
Run your Norton products simultaneously. They will now be able to run without conflicting with each other, ensuring the products will detect malware efficiently.
