View >Macros > Add-Ons >  Visio Extras > Array Shapes

1. Repair Visio Viewer 2010 and reste Internet Explorer settings test this issue.
2. Start Internet Explorer -> Tools - > Internet Options - > Advanced Tab - > Security 
   • Check follow tow check boxs:
   • Allow active content to run from My Computer
   • Allow active content to run from CD's.

It sounds like the the column names in the excel file aren't using the correct format. Take a look at the sample excel file that comes with visio and compare it to your version of the information.

Hey, pollyp. I no longer had the "XPS Document Writer" in my list of printers.  I had most likely removed it from the list thinking it wasn't needed for anything. 

It took a little bit of searching to find the download containing the XPS driver which was in

Microsoft XML Paper Specifications Essentials Pack containing the

"XPSEP XP and Server 2003 32 bit.msi", but once I installed that and did a reboot

then Visio's Database Model Daigramming template starting working properly again.

Select the TimeLine shape and open the shape sheet.

Scroll to the User section and find User.visBEMask and change it to "{{ddd MM/dd}}"

That should give you Wed 6/21

It might depend on exactly what shape you are using as there are exceptions...

Open the shape's shapesheet (there are other articles to tell you how to do that if you don't know, it depends very much on your Visio version and other settings), and in the Shape Transform section set the angle cell to whatever you need, say =25 deg

This can also be done from the Size and Position Wndow, however, that only allows a value to entered and gives no warning if you overwrite a formula.

In the Connectors stencil there are the shapes:

Top/bottom to side

Side to top/bottom

These have only one arrow head.
