Microsoft Excel viewer problems? 07/19/2011 22:39 by ThomasOakes: I have EXCEL 2003 viewer on my laptop, but when I open .xls files, it says they are read only files. Anyone out there got a resolve for my problem?; First answer posted by DanielSimon at 07/19/2011 22:55

If files are read only, then the answer is simple, save as with a different name.

If you only have the viewer, you can't change that. Read only is in the save options of Excel, but not the viewer.
