Visit the McAfee registration page using the link in Resources.
Click the circle next to the option detailing how your software was acquired, and click the "Continue" button to proceed with the registration process.
Enter your full name, address, phone number and zip code in the appropriate fields. Enter your email address, and select where you purchased the software.
Click the drop-down menu next to "Product" and select the name of your software from the menu. Enter the product identification number found on the bottom of your purchased software box, or enter the activation number sent to your email address after you purchased the software.
Click the "Submit" button to finalize the registration. McAfee will send an email to you confirming the completion of the registration.
Ensure that your network meets the basic system requirements including 500 MB of free disk space, Intel Pentium compatible processor, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and McAfee ePolicy Orchastrator.

Open your web browser and go to the Virtual Technician page on the McAfee website.
Read through the introduction on the main page. When you're ready to download the Virtual Technician, click "Continue."
Click "Continue" again to bring up the .exe file that will run the Technician.
Click "Run" when the program prompts you. It should only ask twice. Once for the file download and once for the Windows security clearance.
Click "Continue" again, once you've skimmed through the introduction in the Virtual Technician's main screen.
Read through McAfee's terms and conditions, then click "I Agree."
Wait for the program to download to your PC and complete its scan.

Scroll down the page a bit and take a look at the "Top Phish Scams." These scams can be really well-designed, so it's a very good idea to make yourself familiar with what's out there so you don't get hit. Click on "View Top 10 Phish Scams" to see a helpful pie chart of the most prevalent scams.
Click on the "Virus Map" at the bottom of the page to see a color-coded world map detailing which countries and regions are the hardest hit by security threats.

Purchase the McAfee VirusScan Plus software program. You can purchase this software program at any office supply store, Target or online. This software package contains McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus.
Install McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus on your computer. You can install a single software program on up to three computers. Any additional computers will require you to purchase another package.
Register your McAfee VirusScan Plus software program. You will need your product key found on your package. You can choose to register it online or through the mail.
Take note of the SiteAdvisor ratings when you pull up websites in a search engine. Add a website to the McAfee SiteAdvisor's "Do not warn list." You should only do this if it is a website you visit regularly and you don't have any issues with it.
Update McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus regularly. You can do this by clicking on the "McAfee SiteAdvisor" icon and selecting "Get Latest Version."
