Java runtime environment 2.0 can't install because 4.0 is there?

  • Unistall 4.0. and then install the component version.

  • Open "my computer", "C:", then go to your program files folder and search for a "Java" folder. Find its location.
    Delete its file, then attempt to install jre again.

  • Why do you have to go back to JRE 2.0 instead of 4.0? I think 4.0 supports all 2.0 does, doesn't it?

  • Uninstall JRE 4.0 from "Control Panel", and then download JRE 2.0 from the official website, and install. Don't forget to restart after uninstalling JRE 4.0
