9 Click on any of the toolbars or extensions that you installed right before IE7 started malfunctioning or any that you do not recognize.
10 Click "Disable" at the bottom of the open window to turn off those toolbars/extensions. Click "Close" at the bottom of the window when you've finished.
11 Click "Tools" again. This time, choose "Internet Options." A window with numerous tabs at the top of it will appear.
12 Choose the "Advanced" tab. Two buttons will then show up in the middle of the window.
13 Click the "Reset" button. Another window will appear.
14 Click "Reset" at the bottom of the second window to reset IE7 on Vista.

Microsoft recommendations for IE7 are: 233MHz processor or higher; Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
Upgrading from IE6 to IE7 could slow you down if your computer does not meet the system requirements for IE7.
Faster Firefox
IE7 is still significantly slower than Firefox, despite these improvements. Zimbra, while comparing IE7 to IE6, also tested Firefox and concluded that Firefox was twice as fast as IE7 and four times faster than IE6.
