  • You might need to clean your computer's browser cache. This link from Boston University explains how:

You might have a damaged or corrupt operating system file. You can run a System File Checker. These instructions are for Windows XP and you'll need your install disk. To do this simply go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in: sfc /scannow (notice the space) and click enter. If you get a prompt to insert your install disk, do so. The scan could take over an hour. (If you have XP with IE7, you'll need to uninstall IE7 and revert back to IE6 because that's what is on the install disk.)

The next most common reason is a damaged or corrupt program file. The first step in troubleshooting this kind of problem is to reinstall the software. This is to ensure that there are no corrupt program files in your system. A simple reinstallation or repair from the control panel might not be enough. Please perform the reinstallation procedure this way:

    - Launch Windows Explorer and go to tools\folder option\advance setting to check "show hidden files and folders".
    - Purge/delete all the files in these folders:
    "C:\Windows\Temp"
    "C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp" (for WinXP)
    "C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact\12.0"
    - Uninstall PhotoImpact from control panel Add/Remove programs
    - Delete the folder "C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact 12"
    - Reinstall PhotoImpact 12.
    - Go to Ulead home site and Install any patches.

Note: Make sure you still have a copy of the installer before you uninstall the software. Before installing, please temporarily close other running programs or applications including antivirus, norton utilities, screensaver, other memory resident programs including Internet connection, etc. to avoid unnecessary conflict and restrictions within your system.

If this doesn't solve the problem you might want to look through the Ulead Support Forums:
