I am trying to take a color picture and turn it black and white but I want certain parts to stay in color...How do I do this?

  • A lot of the newer point and shoot digital cameras have a feature called "color accent." You can automatically do this in your camera if you have this feature.
I prefer to use Photoshop. The easiest way is to start with a color image, make a duplicate layer, convert to black and white, then use the eraser to erase the parts you want in color.

  • steve queen is correct. but you can also. use your custom selection, go to tools change setting to polygon check the magic box, outline your image. go to selection, click on invert, then go to color and click on black and white. and you would see that the image you outline saty in color and the rest in black and white. then use stevequeen method for touch ups (small detailed areas)
