    1. Launch GarageBand and open a new project.

    2. Click on the "Voice" icon and name the project in the field in the window that appears. Click the "Create" button.

    3. Click either "Male" or "Female" in the left pane. Hit the big red "Record" button in the bottom of the interface and record yourself singing.

    4. Click the Scissors button in the lower-left corner. Highlight the dead noise before your recording, and hit the "Delete" key. Highlight the dead noise after your recording, and hit the "Delete" key. Click the small volume slider in the left pane associated with the gender preset you used. Move it to the right or left to adjust the volume within the track.

    5. Slide the "Enhanced Tuning" slider all the way to the right and put a check-mark in the box next to "Limit to Key." Slide the Pitch slider up and down to adjust the pitch to where you want it. The track that you just created has been autotuned.

  • First, create a new track in garageband. Click on real instrumental track. Create. Record your voice. Listen to the recording. Go to view, hide track editor. Go to enhance tuning. You can bring it to max for the TPain effect or choose the enhance tuning setting that you want. If you choose limit key, the program will keep you in the same key as your vocal key. (That was determined by the software.) For vocal effects, record a new track. Choose real instrument track, no effect, details, vocal transformer, edit. You can choose a preset vocal such as chipmunk, cartoon falsetto or monster. Record. Switch vocal preset and listen.

  • 1 Open GarageBand. Create a new vocal track by clicking "Track," "New Track" and then selecting "Real Instrument."

2 Click "Record" to record the vocals you want to automatically tune. Click "Record" again when you are finished. Click the "View/Hide the Track Editor" icon at the bottom of the window to display tuning options.

3 Slide the "Enhance Tuning" arrow all the way to the right. Check the box for "Limit to Key." Slide the "Enhance Tuning" arrow back to the left to change the pitch to where you would like it.

  • Auto tune is a plug in and as such you will also need a program to run it.
You can get Pro Tools 7 or later.
    It is Mac compatible.
It is NOT free. Auto tune is only effective for minor pitch variations.
