Click on the green shield and select 'Quit' from the menu.

Once the shield turns red, Hotspot Shield has been disconnected.

Hotspot Shield gets a lil buggy sometimes and the shield...s up, if it refuses work end the process (something like opntray.exe) but to make life easier you can download Task Killer which shows you the Hotspot shield icon and lets you end it (close it)

hey, Artemaria it's easy to turn off Hotspot Shield ads. Just turn on Private Browsing in Safari, Reset Safari then turn off Private Browsing. After you've disconnected Hotspot shield and you'll return to your usual ad-free surfing.

I had problem to turn off Hotspot Shield before. The green button is gone from my computer. what I did is restarting the computer. the green button was there again.
