Launch your browser and log into Facebook. Go to your Profile page by clicking on your username. Navigate to the Notes screen using the Notes button in the sidebar on the left-hand side of the screen under your profile picture.
Start a new note using the button marked "+ Write a Note."
Type <s>. this is the opening HTML strikethrough tag. On U.S. keyboards you will find the opening and closing angle brackets to the lower right of your keyboard, above the comma and period respectively; you access them by pressing and holding the shift key.
Type the text that you want struck out.
Type </s> after the line of text you want struck out. This is the closing tag. You must use this or everything after the opening tag will be struck out instead of just the section you want.
Launch your browser and open two separate tabs or windows. In the first tab, open Facebook and log in. In the second tab, open a strikethrough text generator tool such as Adam Varga's Unicode Strikethrough Text Tool or Herp.in Tools' Unicode Strikethrough Text Tool.
Type the text you want struck out into the input field of the generator. Press the button under the input field; the generator then replaces each character with its Unicode strikethrough equivalent.
Select, copy and paste the struck-out text into your status.
