Locate the OneNote installation disk if you purchased the program from a retail outlet.
Call Microsoft customer service at 1-800-MICROSOFT, or 1-800-642-7676. Have the OneNote installation disk and partial product key, if possible, when you speak to an agent. If you do not have installation disk, customer service cannot help you.
Follow the instructions of the customer service agent to obtain a new key to reinstall and activate your software.
Locate the email confirmation for OneNote software if you purchased and downloaded the software from online. The product key should be in the email. Purchases made at the Microsoft Store send confirmation from an email address ending in: @microsoftstore.com. Purchases from Digital River confirm downloads through @trymicrosoftoffice.com.
