Open your PC cabinet. How you will do this will depend on the make of your PC, but most cases can simply be slid out of the cabinet.
Locate the cased cabinet fan. The fan will be protected and partially covered by a plastic casing, but you will be able to see the blades of the fan through it. Remove the fan by removing the screws in each corner of the case using a screwdriver.
Measure the width of the fan. Put the edge of the measuring tape on the top left corner of the fan and pull it horizontally to the other opposite corner.
Find the height of the fan. Measure from the bottom edge to the top edge of the fan case.
Measure the depth of the fan. Stand the fan case up and measure the case from the front corner to the back corner.
