  • Here is the tutorial to make watermarks in Photoscape.
    1. Launch the Photoscape program. Click "Edit" in the Menu wheel.
    2. Use the Windows Explorer-like navigator located on the left-side of the Edit window to browse to find the picture you would like to stamp with a watermark. Click on the picture to select it.
    3. Go to the "Object" tab underneath the picture edit window. Click the "Photo" icon (picture of a mountain and sun). Select "Photo" the drop-down menu that opens.
    4. Browse to find the picture you want to use as a watermark. Click on the image to highlight it. Click "OK" to select it. The image will appear in the picture edit window.
    5. Double-click on the watermark image in the picture edit window. Adjust the image's opacity and size to suit your preference. Preview your work in the picture edit window. Click "OK" to save the settings.
    6. Click and drag the watermark image to wherever you want it to be in the picture edit window. The goal is to place the watermark in an area of the photo that if it were erased would tarnish the image. If the watermark were position in a blank area of the photo, for instance, it could be easily erased.
    7. Click the "Text" icon (the capital T) on the "Object" tab. Type the text you would like to appear with the watermark in the "Text" box. Adjust the font size, style, color, opacity and other formatting options to suit your preference. Click "OK" to save. Click and drag the text watermark to wherever you want it to be in the picture edit window.
    8. Click "Menu" in the top right corner of the Photoscape window. Select "Save."

  • Yeah, good point. You can do it in GIMP.
Step 1.  Build up your Signature
    • Open up GIMP with a blank transparent page (1600 x 1200, 300dpi)
    • Now Select the Text Tool, type in your name, or initials if too long, Use any font you like.

    Step 2.  add Copyright Symbol

    • Use another text box and copy in the copyright symbol: © (copy it, Ctrl C -> Ctrl V)
    • Again, use any font you like.

    Step 3.  add your Website

Use another text box and type in your website or whatever URL you have. Use any font you like.

    Step 4 Adding a Breaker
    • You can add a line in between the text: Add a new Layer.
    • Just grab the Brush Tool, with the settings shown below: Use Shift and Ctrl to get the line straight.

    Step 5.  Saving
    • Merge all layers go, ‘Right Click’ on layer –> Merge Visible Layers
    • Now go, Image –> Autocrop Image
    • Then, File –> Save As
    • Name it, the .gbr means it will be a brush. (you can easily add it to images in one click) you may need to scale it down or the file size might be too large!

    Step 6.  Adding your Watermark
    • Add a new layer so you can adjust opacity
    • The watermark might need to be scaled
    • With 25% Opacity to blend better.

  • To watermark your images, open object - text (the single one) - then do what you need to do to it. You can change the opacity there then resize and move it around after you click OK.

  • Launch your Photoscape. Click "Edit". Drag the picture you want to make watermark to the center.
Then, click "Object" tab under the picture. Click the "Photo" icon. Select "Photo". Find a picture you want to use as a watermark. Adjust this mark and put it anywhere as you like. Generally speaking, we put the water right under the picture.
Next, Select the type tool (that “T” like button.) and type any texts you want to use as a watermark. Drag the text to anywhere you want to put it. Save.
    There you go.

  • If I make a watermark picture first, then I’ll add it to all pictures you want to watermark easily. I think it’ll be better. Can I make a watermark picture before I use it to mark any pictures by using Potoscape?

  • Removing watermarks? are you kidding? You don't need to remove the watermark. Just find the original picture on your computer. If you cant find by use search function, you can use the "recuva" or any other recovery software to get it back.

  • Making Picture Watermarks in Photoscape seems easy. But after I have done the instruction of Kiwinige, it indeed has some marks on the picture. however, it didn't look as cool as a real watermark. it just look like a picture stick to another picture. i guess the setting of highlight or something may be the problem. can anyone give a professional look watermark setting?

  • hi, austin, just get the watermark picture into transparent. And then make the text look like a watermark format. add "@" or copytight year-year, or anything you like to make it more professional.
