08/03/2011 10:45 by LoveBieber

Fraps keeps cutting my recording videos into many parts. How can I record it as one part?

  • Fraps 'cannot' record larger files then 3.9GB per segment.

  • Your video might be too big. So FRAPS made a new one to continue it.

  • The movie you recorded by fraps is too big, especially while the output is avi file format. cause while recording, there isn't enough time to encode the movie. The movie frames are slightly compressed, but still require a large amount of disk space due to the high resolutions.

  • To record your pc games with Fraps:
    1. Run your Fraps.
    2. First select the target framerate for the movie, which indicates how many frames will be included in the movie each second. You can currently choose from 25, 30, 50 or 60 fps.
    3. In the game press the Video Capture Hotkey (F9) when you want to start recording. While recording the frame rate counter will turn red. When you want to end your movie, press the button again to stop recording. You will now find the movie saved in your default folder.

  • fraps uses avi 1.0 so it does split it up into 4 gb vids because it does not have enough time to encode the video because it does it in realtime! so there is no possible way to make it record in one avi, it splits it up into 4  gb ones!

  • It really isn't so bad. Use a video editing software such as Sony Vegas (any will do) and simply put the multiple parts into the same project. Then line them up (there may be some overlap, just the last few frames) and render the video out in a smaller format and you should be good to go. Yes it's annoying but until the developer updates FRAPs you'll have to stick with another software or use an external device such as Roxio.

  • Well the video's stay in order by date and time, that's good, but bad if you forget you're not recording xD. To not have all the video cuts everywhere and just want it all-in-one use EzVid, its free and simple to use.

  • The real answer is: you need to register with Fraps to record over 30 seconds. OTherwise it won't let you record over 30 seconds. You can register by clicking the green button on in the FRAPS general screen :)

  • YES, IT CAN BE DONE. all you have to do is record to a external hard drive, it you record onto your pc's hard drive fraps shits itself and splits the vid every 4gb. if your prob is you can only record for 30 sec then you have a trail version
