    1. iMovie is integrated with Mac OS X, with it, you could organize your video files, throw together multiple video clips, apply some effects, adjust audio levels for video, etc. It boasts of working with many AVCHD camcorders, like Canon, JVC, Panasonic, Sony. However, iMovie has no native support AVCHD files in .mts or .m2ts extensions, that means you have to convert them to iMovie own format using Apple's Intermediate Codec, which takes up more space. Is there another solution?

    2. MTS Converter for Mac is developed specifically for converting MTS files to video formats usable on iMovie, like MOV, MP4, MPEG, DV, M4V, 3GP. Besides that, you can rip the audio track from MTS files and save them as MP3, WAV, WMA, AIFF, etc. Or convert MTS to MP4 video for transferring and playback on iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP, Gphone, BlackBerry, etc. Download and install the software to get more!

    3. Simplified 1-2-3 step on converting MTS to iMovie on Mac OS X:

Step 1: Add MTS video filesHook up your AVCHD camcorder to Mac, copy the MTS files to your hard disk, and then add them to Mac MTS Converter.

    4. Step 2: Set output format/directorySelect the final video format you want to convert to, provided it is compatible with iMovie. MOV or MP4 is the best choice. Then Find an output folder for saving the final video files.

    5. Step 3: Convert MTS to iMovieIt will convert MTS to iMovie video by hit "Convert" button. After conversion, you can import MTS files into iMovie for making new movies.
