How to get microsoft office word back to normal? 07/20/2011 02:30 by maxkitty: i copy and pasted a conversation from facebook chat onto microsoft office word and now when i open up a new document, a symbol appears and when i click the space bar it does a little dot inbetween each word. All my other documents that i have saved have changed into this style of writing, is there a way to fix it to go back to normal? Thanks; First answer posted by JoeStewart at 07/20/2011 02:31

What the Ctrl Shift does is to toggle "show formatting." You can do the same thing by clicking the backwards P on the Home Tab, Paragraph group.

1. Click the Tools->Options menu item.
2. Click the View tab.
3. Under Print and Web Layout Options, put a check in the check box for White Space Between Pages,
4. Click OK.

Hold down CTL+SHIFT and then press the * key this will toggle the symbols that show you spaces and paragraph marks on and off - these are what you are seeing and is a useful part of Word.

1. Open "My computer". Then use the search function to find the 'normal' Template file in C or D, depends on the location you install office.
2. Right click the delete the file.
3. Restart your computer.
This should fix it.
