Download the DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15.zip file (see Resources). Double click on the .zip file to extract DVD Shrink.exe file to the desktop. Double click the .exe file to install the program.
Place the double-sided DVD into the DVD drive on side A. Double click the DVD Shrink shortcut on the desktop. Click "Full Disc" in the menu at the top of the DVD Shrink window. Click on the "Open Disc" and from the drop down menu find the DVD and click "OK." DVD Shrink will now analyze the disc.
When analyzing is complete, click the "Backup" button. Under "Select backup target" choose "Hard Disk Folder," or select it from the drop down menu. Under "Select target folder for DVD output files" choose "C:\Documents and Settings\(user)\Desktop\DVD Side A." Leave all other settings as they are. Click "OK." This will copy the disc to the desktop.
When Side A is complete, follow steps 2 through 4 to copy side B to the desktop.
Open DVD Shrink and click on the "Re-author" button. Under "DVD Browser" menu, select the "DVD Side A" from the desktop.
Under "Main Movie," Click and drag the contents to the "DVD Structure" window. Under "DVD Browser," select "DVD Side B" from the desktop. Under "Main Movie," click and drag contents to the "DVD Structure" window. These files are the main movie.
Click the "Backup" button. When prompted, select "Hard Disk Folder" under the "Select backup target," and under "Select target folder for DVD output files", type "C:\Documents and Settings\Tiger\Desktop\(Movie Name)" and click "OK."
If prompted by DVD Shrink to insert a blank DVD, do so. If not, when DVD Shrink has completed the backup, open the DVD burning software associated with the DVD burner. Nero seems to be the most popular, so the next few steps are for the Nero software.
In the Nero navigation window, click on "Photo and Video." Select "Burn DVD-Video Files" from the window. An "Add" window will pop up. Click "Add" and in the "Location" drop menu, select "Desktop." Select the movie folder copied with DVD Shrink and Click "Add." Close this window.
Click "Next." Under "Current Recorder," choose the DVD burner. Under "Disc name" type the name of the movie and click "Burn."
