Click and drag the mouse pointer over the uppercase text to select it.
Click Format on the OpenOffice Writer menu bar.
Select Change Case.
Select "lowercase." This converts the uppercase text to lowercase. If you prefer to capitalize the first letter of the text, select "Sentence case" instead.
