    1. Convert your PDF document to Word using PDFOnline.com's web-based tool. Point your browser to PDFOnline.com. Select the "PDF to Word" tab, followed by the link that reads "Upload Your PDF." The converted file will be in the RTF (Rich Text File) format, which Word can easily load, though RTF does not have all the features of a Word document.

    2. Browse for your file. Click the "Upload and Convert" button. The PDFOnline conversion application will convert the PDF to the Word format. When the heading "Thank You for Waiting" appears, click the link that reads "Please Right-Click Here to Download the Word File." Remember which folder you downloaded the converted file to. When the download has completed, if your operating system is a version of Windows, open up Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder where you downloaded the Word file. If your system is Macintosh, navigate with Finder.

    3. Scan the RTF file for viruses or other malware. Open the file once the virus scan completes and verify it has the contents you expected. Open the file in Word and save it as a true Word document with a .doc extension.

    4. Convert the PDF document to Word using software you install on your computer. Perform this step if you do not have access to the web conversion tool described earlier, or want a conversion utility that involves none of the security risk that web file up and downloads present.

    5. Point a browser to PDFOnline.com and select the "PDF to Word" tab. In the column to the right of the file uploader, click the link that reads "Convert PDF to Word for Your PC." Download and install the inexpensive EasyConverter Desktop application, for which a free trial is available. Open the software and use its interface to navigate to and convert your PDF files.
