Download and install a free word processing program that supports the OpenDocument format, such as OpenOffice.org Writer, Abiword or KWord (see Resources).
Launch the word processing program.
Select "File" and click "Open." Search for the desired ODM file, select it and click "Open."
Select "File" and click "Save As." Select a different file format from the "Save As Type" drop-down menu, such as .DOC (Microsoft Word format) or .RTF (rich text format).
Click "Save" to save the ODM file in the new format.
