Download and install some video software such as Quicktime,VLC or Media Player Classic.
Open your WMV video using your video program. For example, in VLC, click on the "Tools" menu.
Select "Aspect Ratio" from the drop-down menu. It should be set on "default." If it's not, try returning it to that ratio first. Otherwise, click on the ratio you want, such as "4:3" for a standard TV, or "16:9" for widescreen.
It is a BIG problem. Especially for people who filmed their stuff on a non-standard wide angle video (like the older sony camcorders use). It is practically impossible to do it. Change in the header does not help since the standard way of playing a video is keeping picsel size ratio at 1:1.
The only way of doing it is transcoding it with a special SW that allows for a picsel size ratio setting. So far I haven't been able to find a free one.
