Here is how to embed Music on Your Tumblr Blog
1. Upload your audio file on your own Web space or file storage space online. You can buy Web space from companies like BlueHost at BlueHost.com or 1&1 at 1and1.com. Free alternatives for hosting MP3 files include the service FileFreak.com or the public folder on a Dropbox account. Once you've uploaded your file, copy the URL for your audio file; an example of a public Dropbox URL is "http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11481405/audio.mp3".
2. Go to "Tumblr.com/customize" to make changes to your Tumblr blog. You can also access the customization page by clicking your username at the top of your Tumblr dashboard and selecting "Customize Appearance" from the sidebar.
3. Click the "Info" button on in the upper left corner of the Customize page. Under "Description (or HTML and widgets)" you'll add the HTML for your embedded audio. You can add other widgets and content to this section, so start your audio HTML where you want the audio player to appear.
4. Add the HTML tag "<audio controls="controls">" where you want to display your audio player. If you want the music to start automatically, enter "<audio controls="controls" autoplay="autoplay">." If you don't want to display the audio player, remove "controls="controls" but proceed cautiously; many users will close a page that starts playing music that cannot be paused.
5. Enter the audio file URL with "<source src="audiourl.mp3" type="audio/mpeg" />" where "audiourl.mp3" reflects your source URL. If you're using another audio format, such as WAV, change your type to reflect that, as in "type="audio/wav"".
6. Enter a warning message; if a user with an unsupported browser views your page, she'll see it. The message can be whatever you want, such as, "Your browser doesn't support this tag." It doesn't need any special syntax, but must be located between the opening and closing "Audio" tags.
7. Close the audio tag with "</audio>." Save your page and visit your Tumblr blog to check the embedded audio on your page.

To keep your tumblr music playing:
1. Log in to your Tumblr account with your email address and password. The site will direct you to your Tumblr dashboard. This is where your friends' most recent posts are located.
2. Click the play button on the song you wish to listen to. The songs your friends posted will appear on the dashboard. They will be labeled as a song with a triangle "play" button.
3. Right click the "Next" link at the bottom right corner of the screen. Click "Open in new window" or "Open in new tab." You can now listen to music on Tumblr and continue browsing the website.
