It all depends on your computer. If it has a good processor and how many files and programs you actually have.

When i would do antivirus scan on my old single core processor computer it would take 1-2 hrs. Now my quad core processor only takes 20 minutes to scan half a million files.

when I do a full scan it take about 45 minutes. It depends on how much stuff is on your computer. just let it run while your doing other things. It won't slow you down.

The long scan in safe mode took about 1hr 30 mins on my laptop that's about 3 months old running 4 gig of ram (lot of junk on it already though). I'd recommend disabling system restore after you go in safe mode as well to prevent the malware from re-appearing on you.

Assuming you set it for a full scan, it can take well over an hour depending on the number of files it has to read. Ifyou have a large hard drive and lots of stuff on it, that's where the time gets spread out. Try a smart scan, or whatever they call it. I tried Malwarebytes and got rid of it for the same reason. I use SuperAntiSpyware and use their quick scan. It scans the files I want it to scan, and it is done in about 25-30 minutes. It's also free.
