I have the same problem. presentation files made by ms office PowerPoint 97 cannot open in ms office PowerPoint 2007.

I have powerpoint 2007 too. it can open ppt files from pp97-2003 without problem.

If you can open it with 2003 just resave it > Do NOT choose 97-2003 & 95 format just the normal .ppt and it will open in 2007.
