How do I remove iMesh from new tabs in firefox?

09/08/2011 03:52 by MikeChin

I have un-installed iMesh from my computer and disabled the toolbar. However, when I open a new tab it loads iMesh search engine. How do I get it back to blank?

  • For anyone with the problem.

    Close firefox.

1: Open Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program
2: Find anything with iMesh and uninstall it.
3: Open Firefox and click on View > Toolbars
    4: Uncheck "Media Bar"
    5: Click on Tools > Add-ons.
6: Click "disable" for add-on "media bar".
    7: Restart Firefox.

If you want to remove it from your system completely...
Go to C:\ProgramFiles\ > find "iMeshApplications" and delete the whole folder.*
    * You will need to close firefox to perform this.
    * For 64 bit you may find iMesh in ProgramFiles x86.
    * Empty your recycle bin as well after deletion.

  • you can open the about:config page via the location bar and do a search for iMesh via the Filter at the top of the about:config page.
You can reset all iMesh related prefs via the right-click context menu to their default values.

  • You could look through the extensions/add-ons configuration of Firefox, alternatively:
To uninstall iMesh and the iMesh Bar using the Windows Control Panel, please follow these steps:
Click on the Windows "Start" menu in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.
Click on "Settings" > "Control Panel" > "Add or Remove Programs".
Select "iMesh 5" and click the "Remove" button.
To uninstall iMesh Bar, repeat steps 1 to 3, selecting "iMesh Bar" and clicking the "Remove" button.

  • You need to clear the iMesh cookies. Follow Tools>Options>Privacy Here, in Firefox 3.6.13 on Windows 7 you will find a link "remove individual cookies". Click on this and a scrollable window will open showing all the sites that have set cookies on your machine; scroll down to, and highlight the "iMesh" entry then click on "Remove Cookies" in the bottom left of the window.
