If the songs are downloaded from the Internet, then there's nothing much
you can do about it. It was probably ripped at a low bitrate to keep
the size small which reduces quality.
xmms is compatable with most winamp skins, amarok will let you rearange it but you need the earlier version,
mine comes with amarok 2.2.2 but i have reverted to version 1.4.8 as its more customisable
There wouldn't be a quality difference.
Both of them use the exact same FLAC encoder to rip the songs. The only
advantage EAC has is that it's a dedicated CD ripper and allows you
more control over the settings. Whichever one you use is a personal preference.
Besides Foobar2000, you need another software named "Noteburner", which is mentioned in the title, a virtual CD burner.
Install noteburner, it will create a virtual cd burner in your hardware. Noteburner is a shareware, its trial version has a 3-minute limitation of music conversion.
Default install of foobar2000 can't burn audio CD, using foobar2000 to convert audios with noteburner, we need to download foobar2000's cd burning support component. To play and convert APE audio, we need to download Moneky's audio component. Go to download and extract , and put the components in the directory \Program Files\foobar2000\components
In Foobar2000, create a playlist and add music files saved on your computer to the playlist. Press Ctrl key or Shift key to choose the music you want to convert.
Right-click on the selected music, choose “convert” and later choose “Write Audio CD”. Set device to “NoteBurn Virtual_CD-RW” and choose “maximum” burning speed. Click burn. And a few minutes later, noteburner will start to convert.
Click folder icon in noteburner, and you will get the converted music files.
