  • The cause of the freezing, or locking up, of your computer, is due to some either corrupted or missing files, and more specifically, missing or corrupted registry files. These are the files which tell everything on your how it is suppose to work. Basically, they are configuration files.
By just running registry scan software on your computer, you can find these problems and fix them right away. It will let you know which files are bad, and will fix them to its original state. And it is this simple step which will show you how to fix your computer freezing.

  • Yeah I agree try running registry scan software to locate the problems.  When the software finds issues on your computer you can try and cross reference them on bing to find out what they are and if you should remove them or not.
If you are not comfortable with this, just make sure that you use a registry cleaning software program that comes with a backup feature and backup before you make any changes.

  • Open the regedit :HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\SafeMode\Components

You would find a key named DeskHtmlVersion

Right click the key and select Modify

Under the label Base, select the radio button Decimal

    Change Value data to 0

    Click OK
