Download the AoA Audio Extractor and MP3 CD Converter freeware applications (see Resources).
Install the applications by following the prompts.
Open the AoA Audio Extractor and select "Operation>Add files." Choose the .AVI file to convert to MP3 by selecting the "Start' button on the application control panel. Once this is complete, save the MP3 and close the AOA Audio Extractor.
Open the MP3 CD Converter Application and select the MP3 file you created in Steps 1 to 3, which is saved in c:\myaudio by default.
Select "Create CD" once the MP3 file is loaded in the control panel of the application. Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW in the CD burner to finish creating the CDA files for playback on the CD.
Ensure that your computer has a CD burner drive and a media program that burns MP3 files to CD. Specific audio conversion programs can be found online, but all Windows-based computers should come with Windows Media Player, which can convert and burn the files to CD.
Open Windows Media Player (or other CD burning software). Below the "Library" tab is a small arrow; click on that to open a menu.
Click on "Add to Library." A new window opens and displays the locations where music files are normally stored. Click "OK." The media player will search those locations and import the files. If the files you wish to convert are not in one of the listed locations, click "Add" and manually find the location before clicking "OK."
Click on the "Burn" tab. Your music library is on the left side, listed by artist, album or songs, depending on which of those was chosen from the menu on the far left.
Find the audio files you wish to burn to the CD. Highlight those and drag them to the area on the right where you see the words "Drag items here." To drag more than one file at a time, press and hold the shift key while using the up or down arrow key to highlight a number of files.
Insert a blank recordable CD. After the media player loads it, click "Start Burn." The MP3 files will convert and be burned to the audio CD. Monitor the progress in the main window.
Eject the CD when the process is complete if the media player does not automatically eject it. Test it in any CD player to ensure that the audio files were converted and the songs will play.
Install the Serpentine audio CD creator. You can probably find it in your Linux distribution's repositories, making for easy installation. If not, download the sources here: http://irrepupavel.com/projects/serpentine/download/. Follow the directions at http://irrepupavel.com/projects/serpentine/usage/ to compile a disc.
Open Serpentine. This can be done by either finding it in your menu (likely under "Sound & Video") and clicking on it, or running "serpentine" in a shell terminal.
Click the 'Add' button on the toolbar. Locate and choose your MP3 files, and click "Open." Repeat until all the files you wish to burn to CD are in the list.
Click "Write to Disc." Serpentine will convert the files to CDA format and then burn them to the CD.
Launch iTunes. Click "Edit" and then click "Preferences." The following steps will allow you to configure iTunes to import CDA using the settings that you prefer.
Click on the "Advanced" tab in the window that appears. Ensure that the setting next to "On CD Insert" is "Ask to Import CD."
Click on the drop-down menu next to "Import Using" and change the setting to "MP3 Encoder."
Click on the drop-down menu next to "Setting" and choose the quality level of your choice. The higher the quality level chosen, the more hard drive space the resulting MP3 files will consume. A 45-minute CD will require about 43 MB of space using the 128 kbps quality setting or 64 MB at 192 kbps.
Click the check box labeled "Use error correction when reading Audio CDs" if any of the discs that you would like to import have light scratches. Doing this may cause CD audio to import more slowly, but it can help to correct the problems resulting from scratched discs.
Click "OK" and insert a CD into your computer. A window will appear asking you if you would like to import the CD into your iTunes library. Click "Yes." Your computer will begin to read the CD and convert the data to MP3 files.
Remove the CD from the drive after the process is complete. The MP3 files created from your CD will now be a part of your iTunes music collection.
Open the CDA file you want to convert in Winamp by clicking "Play " and selecting "File" from the Winamp menu (or simply hit the keyboard shortcut "L"). Winamp will fetch the song title and information from the Internet if the information is available.
Right-click the song title in the Playlist window and select Send To: Format Converter.
Select "MP3 Encoder" in the Encoding Format drop-down menu. Change the Output File Naming Scheme options if you'd like the MP3 file to have a different file name or destination folder.
Hit the "OK" button to finish converting your music track.
Place the CD into the CD drive.
Open the CD using Windows Media Player. The playlist for the CD will appear in the right navigation panel of the application interface.
Click the desired song to be converted to the MP3 format. The song will begin to play in Windows Media Player.
Click the "Now Playing" button on the top menu of the Windows Media Player interface.
Select the "More Options..." entry.
Click the tab labeled "Rip Music."
Select the location for the new MP3 file in the first section of the Rip Music page by clicking the "Change" button.
Click the "File Name" button and type a new name for the MP3 file.
Select the "MP3" option in the dropdown box labeled "Format" in the "Rip Settings" section.
Slide the "Audio Quality" slider bar to specify the quality of the MP3 file.

Click the "Add Files" button. The file navigation interface will appear.
Navigate to the CDA track to convert. Click on the track to enter it into MediaCoder.
Click the "Browse" button labeled "Output Folder" near the top of the menu to specify the output location for the new MP3.
Click the "MP3" option in the "Audio" drop-down box on the left navigation menu.
Click the "Convert" button. The CDA track will be converted and saved as an MP3 file.
Download the FreeRIP Basic program (see link in Resources). Install it to your hard drive and run the application.
Click "View" on the Menu bar and select "Ripper."
Insert the music CD into your disc drive and wait for the drive to complete its initialization process, which takes about 10 seconds.
Click "File" on the Menu bar and select "Refresh CD." This brings up a list of all of the .cda files on the disc.
Select the files you wish to convert, then click "Rip" from the Menu bar and select "Rip Selected Tracks to MP3." The progress of the rip and conversion process shows. By default, the files are stored in a folder on your desktop.
Download and install the free Lame MP3 plugin from bitburners.com.
Start Nero and open the recorder. This process may differ depending on what version of Nero you have. Regardless, all versions should have a recorder function.
Click "File > Save" and you will be given several options.
Choose an output directory where you want the file saved. This is the location on your computer where the file will be stored.
Choose an output format from the menu. Choose "Lame MP3" for this conversion and click "Ok".
Open Windows Media Player by clicking on the "Start" menu in Windows, selecting "All Programs" and then clicking on "Windows Media Player."
Click on the little arrow right under the "Rip" tab at the top of the Windows Media Player program screen. A drop-down menu appears. Click on "Format" and then select "MP3."
Insert your music CD into your CD-ROM drive. Make sure the "Rip" tab is still up on your Windows Media Player as you do this. The music from the CD should be automatically transferred to your Windows Media Player library in MP3 format. Click on the "Library" tab in WMP to view the music.
Open Windows Media Player.
Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive.
Click on the "Rip" tab at the top of the Windows Media Player.
Click on the small arrow under "Rip." This will open up a menu. Highlight "Format," then select what type of file you want to create (either mp3 or one of the Windows Media Audio options). In Windows 7, click on "Rip Settings" to access these options.
Click on "Start Rip." The .CDA files will now be converted into MP3 or WMA files.
