Bitcomet says my listen port is blocked?

09/26/2011 03:55 by SaideeDay

I am using a usb modem as my internet, my isp is vodafone. I am trying to download torrents using bitcomet but the download speed is friggin slow as. Bitcomet says that my listen port is blocked, (i don't even know what a listen port is...??) and I have read a few other peoples answers to this kind of question, but nothing really applies to my situation with my usb modem. Can someone please help, its so frustrating.

  • you have to forward the port in your router setup page to listen to your listening port and send all that information to a specific computer (Lan ip).

  • 1st- run ipconfig find your default gateway ip and enter it in your explorer address bar possibly if you have the password you would see your routers settings
2nd-look for a tab which is written NAT it should be a place which you are shown a couple of boxes with these specific names
    from port
    to port
    address ip destination
    tcp ip
NOW look for the port you want to forward
    - in the TO PORT and FROM PORT enter the same number
    - for the tcp udp drop down box only choose TCP since bit commet doesnt use UDP
    - in the ip box enter the ip of your workstation which you could have found it by using ipconfig at the command line

  • Turn off your firewall. Are you behind a router? If so you have open the port through the router.
