Avira AntiVir Personal-Free Antivirus won't automatically active? 07/20/2011 02:11 by wawaslope: I have downloaded and installed the new version of the Avira AntiVir Personal-Free Antivirus. The problem is that whenever I start up my computer it won't automatically activate itself. Go control panel and set it as the start-up program.

To active Avira AntiVir Personal-Free Antivirus running automatically every time your start up windows, follow these steps:
1. Open up windows Defender from "Start"-"All Programs"-"Windows Defender".
2. Click "Tools", then "Software Explorer".
3. You'll see the category box, click Startup Programs.
4. Select"Avira AntiVir Personal-Free Antivirus"(any version of Avira AntiVir Personal you installed, just choose the software name). Make it "Permitted".
5. Follow the instruction that might pop up.Yes. Done.
Restart your computer. This time, Avira AntiVir Personal-Free Antivirus will automatically active.

It's unnecessary to make an antivirus program running automatically when Windows starts. An antivirus program like Avira AntiVir Personal-Free Antivirus, might slow down your computer start up speed. Sooner or later, you would like to stop it from the running start.

after you start the windows. click on start-all program- find Avira AntiVir Personal-Free Antivirus to open it up. Dont add it to your start programs. Actually, every antivirus will run when the windows is running by default unless you disable it.

What's the system operation you're running? windows 7 or windows xp?

To set a program at the start-up in windows xp:
1. Open the "Start" menu, point to "All Programs" or "Programs," go to "Accessories," then select "Windows Explorer" to launch Windows Explorer.
2. Click "My Computer" in the left-side window panel. Browse to find the execution file for the program you would like to launch automatically when Windows starts up. (Execution files are files with an .exe extension.) Many program files are located in the "C:\Programs" directory.
3. Right-click on the program execution file and select "Create Shortcut" from the menu. Right-click on the shortcut that was created and select "Cut" from the pop-up menu.
4. Navigate to: C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER_NAME\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. Go to the Explorer "Edit" menu and select "Paste" to place a copy of the program shortcut you created in Step 3 inside your user account Startup folder. Any program shortcut placed in this folder will launch automatically every time you log on. Or, navigate to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. Go to the Explorer "Edit" menu and select "Paste" to place a copy of the program shortcut you created in step 3 inside the common Startup folder. Any program shortcut placed in this folder will launch automatically every time any user logs on.

Thanks very much. I follow those steps to set avira antivir personal automatically active at the start up. then I notice the start up speed of my computer is lower. finally I disable it automatically activate.
