Even if AutoCAD 2012, 2011 and 2010 use the same version of the DWG format, some new objects stored in the DWG format may not be readable for the older versions.

The example are the documentation 2D views automatically generated in AutoCAD 2012 from 3D models.

To be able to display these 2D views also in AutoCAD 2011 and 2010, you need first to install the necessary "object enabler" for the older versions.

if ACAD 2012 can display documents from ACAD 2011,then you can update ACAD to 2012.

cant open files with autocad? You would try two ways to fix it.

Method 1.Run repair function
- Your file might be damaged. Run autocad to repair them.
- In the Files - Graphics Utilities -Repair.
- Located your file and open it.
- When finished, open it with autocad again.
Method 2: Backup and rename
- Backup your .dwg file. Rename the .bak backed up file to (name).dwg.
- Open this renamed file.

Where can I download AutoCAD?Here is an instruction to download it from brothersoft.

Click on the underlined "Download It" on the right side of this question page. Or just Go to this page directly:

http://www.brothersoft.com/autocad-download-51230.html

Click on "Server 1 Official Download" Under the software name to download Autocad.

When finished, double click for the setup wizard.
